STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) — The administration building at the University of Connecticut remains closed, but all other activities are resuming after a bomb threat that shut down the campus.

UConn Chief of Police Barbara O’Connor said in a press conference that threat wasn’t credible but the incident is still under investigation. She also said the call wasn’t affiliated with anyone from the university but was made from campus.

Students and staff were told to told to shelter in place because of the threat, and others are advised to stay off campus until the alert is over. That order was lifted a little after 11:30 a.m., and classes were scheduled to resume at 12:30 p.m.

“We got an email probably 9/ 9 :30 saying there was a bomb threat. We weren’t sure what to do so we were looking outside and saw people evacuating. A lady came around and told us to stay in place. We could move around the building, but were to stay in the building and not go outside. From there, we got another email at 11:30 saying classes resumed at 12:30. So now we’re on our way to class,” said  Damon, UConn junior.

UConn police and members of the state police tactical teams and the bomb squad remain on campus investigating the threat at the university’s Tasker Building.

A message from the university said:

10:50am Update: Please remain inside until receiving all-clear. All classes beginning at 12:30 p.m./later will resume as scheduled.

Campus events, including a sendoff for the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team to the NCAA Final Four game, were been delayed because of the police activity.

An earlier message posted on the school’s website said:
