Car crashes into Middletown package store

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — No serious injuries are reported after a car crashed into a building on South Main Street in Middletown.

According to police, Joshua Edwards was driving his 2005 Infinity FX southbound on South Main when he went left, then off the road, hit a utility pole, and then crashed into the front of The Wine Cellar.

The crash caused extensive damage to the building, police said.

Edwards reported only minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the accident.

South Main Street was closed overnight but has since reopened. It’s unclear when the wine store will be able to open for business.
