CT State Police Seize Weapons

MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police have arrested two people, one of them a convicted felon, accused of trying to sell stolen AR-15 style rifles.

State Police arrested 25-year-old Chaz St. George of Griswold, and 20-year-old Falicia Viscione of Montville on Thursday.

Officials say they set up surveillance and determined that the man and woman had the rifles in a car. After identifying them, police realized that St. George was a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms. They also determined that the female did not have the legal rights to sell the firearms and that they had been taken from an acquaintance, without the acquaintance knowing.

Both were arrested without incident.

Viscione was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Norwich on April 17. She is being charged with the following:

  • Weapons in a vehicle (two counts)
  • Firearms trafficking
  • Sale/transfer of assault weapons
  • Possession of an assault weapon
  • Stealing a firearm (two counts)
  • Conspiracy toward the commission of a crime
  • Attempt to commit a crime

St. George is being held on $100,000 dollars bond and is scheduled to appear in a Norwich court on Friday. He is being charged with the following:

  • Weapons in a vehicle (two counts)
  • Firearms trafficking
