Police seize crack cocaine, heroin in separate raids


NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) – Police raided two area homes Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into drug dealing in the city.

Police said they seized four grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $3,500 in suspected drug money from 85 Norman Road, Apt. 201, as well as 25 bags of heroin from 8 South A St. in Taftville.

Arrested in the Norman Road raid were Tiffany Anderson, 21, and Calvin Richardson, 34, who both face charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

Anderson was held on a $25,000 cash bond and Richardson on a $100,000 cash bond. The two are due in court April 10.

Arrested in the Taftville raid were Shawn Brown, 37, and Dianis Mercado, 30, who both face charges of possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to sell.

Mercado was released on a $100,000 non-surety bond and is due in court April 24. Brown was held on a $50,000 cash bond and is due in court April 10.
