ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH)– An Ansonia teen was arrested Monday, for robbing a person at gunpoint after buying a stolen handgun from them.
Police say they received a complaint of a stolen 9mm firearm from a home on Locke Street.
After an investigation, a suspect, 18-year-old Jacob Freeman, was identified and police conducted a search of his home. The stolen weapon nor Freeman was located at the home during the search.
Police say initially the gun was stolen by a juvenile male who sold the gun to Freeman. But when the deal was completed, Freeman robbed the juvenile at gunpoint and stole the money he gave the juvenile for that gun.
Freeman was arrested after police found him standing on a front porch of a Lester Street home.
He was charged with robbery, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a permit and larceny. Freeman was held on $500,000 bond.
