Bristol police investigate home invasion

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH)– A 20-year-old woman was threatened during a home invasion in Bristol on Wednesday night.

Police say around 9:50 PM, the victim had just emptied out her trash outside her apartment on Shawn Drive when a man prevented her from closing her door and forced his way inside.  The man threatened her with the gun he was wielding.

The suspect wasn’t able to make off with anything before leaving through a rear door to the apartment.

The victim wasn’t injured and ran to her grandmother’s home where she called police one hour after the crime.

The suspect is described as being between 5’8″- 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He was dressed in a black mask, black pants, jacket and had on black gloves and black “Nike” sneakers.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call Bristol Police at 860-584-3011.
