Man arrested w/ 200 bags of heroin & 56 guns

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)– A 25-year-old Norwich man was arrested with 200 bags of heroin and 56 firearms on Wednesday evening.

Police say as a result of an investigation into heroin trafficking, they arrested James W. Blacker.

During the arrest, police seized approximately 200 bags of heroin, with a street value of over $2,000, and a 2008 Chevrolet Impala owned by Blacker.

In Blacker’s home, police later seized 48 rifles, 8 handguns and 7 undeclared high capacity magazines. There were also 9 additional bags of heroin and a scale found.

Blacker was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, and possession of high capacity magazines.  He was held on $100,000 bond.
