Greenwich PD: No hostage situation

UPDATE: From a Friday morning police statement: “At this time we do not believe there was any actual hostage situation… No reason to believe there is any threat to the community.” Greenwich police continue to investigate.

GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have reopened Round Hill Road after they reporting receiving a call Thursday night that indicated a “very serious criminal matter” occurring near or on the 600 block of the Greenwich road.

There were reports of several people being held hostage.

“The case remains open while more facts are gathered,” police said on their official Twitter account (post embedded below). No arrests have been made.

Police had said the scene was “very active,” but that there was “no immediate threat to the general public.”

Police said they’ll release more information Friday.
