110 acres eyed for development in Cromwell

CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) — The landscape of one Connecticut community may soon be changing – if the owner of a tree farm has his way.

Michael Millane of Millane Nurseries says he wants to sell off 110 acres of his land currently being used by his nursery company in order build homes.

Right now the plan still requires approval from the town’s planning and zoning commission but Millane says he thinks they should move forward with his proposal because he believes it would greatly benefit the area.

“The big challenge is getting through planning and zoning and then wetlands but we think that this is the best use for the land its the best use for the town,” Millane says.

He adds that his major motivation to sell off the land is to help resolve debt issues associated with his company.
