Man dies after being struck by car in Stonington

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A 51-year-old man has died after police say he was hit by a car in Stonington.

Police say it happened just after 5 a.m. Friday on Route 2 near Route 78.

Police say when they got to the scene, the man was severely injured on the side of the road, and it appeared he was hit by a car.

The man was transported by Life Star to a hospital, where he later died. Police are now investigating.
