STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Why did the chicken cross the road? Trick question. It was a pig. But we don’t have an answer.

Stratford firefighters responding to a report of a car accident on I-95 southbound this morning instead found a wayward pig and the motorist who pulled over to corral the animal.

The pig was transported by Stratford EMS to the town’s animal control facility where the animal is “resting comfortably,” the fire union said on its Facebook page.

It’s unclear how the pig ended up on the highway. The porker was discovered near exit 32.
