Man shot several times outside illegal club

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A New Haven man is in critical condition after being shot several times during a robbery, early Sunday.

Police responded to 260 Davenport Avenue around 3:30 AM where they found 41-year-old Courtney Malcom suffering for several gunshot wounds to the legs, arms and foot. He told police he was the victim of a robbery where he was confronted by the shooter outside.

At the same address an illegal after-hours club was found to be operating and police are investigating whether it is related to the shooting.

Malcom was transported to Yale-New Haven hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

A witness described the suspect as a young, light complexioned, black male, with a tall and thin build. He was also said to be wearing brown cargo pants and was armed with a black pistol.

The witness also told police the suspect fled the scene on foot.
