Teen girl struck & killed by train

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– A teen girl was killed after being struck by a train in Stonington, Friday night.

Police say around 9:19 PM, they received a call from Amtrak indicating that a train struck something on the tracks in Pawcatuck, near Palmer Street crossing.

When police responded to the area with Amtrak patrol, they discovered a deceased female who had been stuck on the tracks.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old, Stonington High School student Megan Briggs, of Pawcatuck.

The incident remains under investigation.
