Trucks collide on Route 82

HADDAM, Conn. (WTNH) — A Killingworth man suffered cuts and serious burns after an early morning head-on crash in Haddam.

The crash happened just before 3:00 a.m.on what’s called the Route 82 connector.

According to state police, a Ford Ranger pickup driven by Ryan Graham, 29, was headed eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and hit an Isuzu NPR box truck head on.

The Isuzu, driven by Salko Duric, 50, of Hartford, burst into flames. Duric was able to get out of the truck. He suffered head and back injuries.

Graham was flown by Lifestar helicopter to Bridgeport Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

That section of the road was closed as police conducted their accident investigation.
