Police investigating shooting at furniture store in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–Police are investigating a shooting that took place at Furniture Plus on Whalley Avenue in New Haven on Monday afternoon.

Police said an adult male who is believed to be the owner of the furniture store, was shot and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He was conscious and told police that he was shot during an attempted robbery.

The store is located in the 200 block of Whalley Avenue.

Police are still investigating the incident.
