Child & Family Agency Holds Tag Sale

WTNH– Chief Operating Officer Rick Calvert and long-time volunteer Mary Dangremond from Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut talk about how in April the organization is celebrating National Volunteers Month and preparing for their 60th Annual Sale, which is the largest and longest running tag sale in New England.

The backbone of Child & Family Agency is the 600 plus volunteers, organized into six auxiliaries along the shoreline. This, and every April, Child and Family salutes these men and women who dedicate their time to help to make the organization the success it is.

The Annual Tag is an all-hands-on deck event for the volunteers and Child and Family Agency staff. In April, they begin a massive intake process that is a sight to be seen. The Annual Sale starts on Thursday, May 1st at 9 a.m. and will run through Saturday, May 3rd, at the New London Armory, at 249 Bayonet Street in New London.

Child & Family’s mission is to promote the well-being and development of all children and their families, focusing in particular on the unmet needs of children lacking physical, emotional and intellectual care and nurturing.
