Hartford PD make arrest in December murder

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A 30-year-old convicted felon was charged with murder Tuesday, after shooting a Hartford man in the head, last December.

Police say they responded to 109 Adelaide Street on Decemeber 20th around 9 PM, to find 23-year-old Angel Vasquez suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Physical evidence led police to Daniel Morales, of East Hartford and Hartford, and DNA confirmed his involvment.

Morales is a convicted felon who was out on parole at the time. Morales was located and interviewed by police where he confessed to shooting and killing Vasquez.

Morales is currently incarcerated and an arrest warrant charging him with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm and tampering with evidence was approved Tuesday.

His bond was set at $1 million and his warrant will be served at his next court appearance.
