WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — A Waterbury elementary school principal has been fired after what city officials called a string of embarrassing after-hours incidents.

The Board of Education voted Thursday night to fire Bunker Hill Elementary School Principal Brian Goggin. The Republican-American reports that an arbitration panel had previously determined that Goggin’s conduct compromised the integrity of the school district.

Goggin was charged with disorderly conduct in downtown Waterbury nearly a year ago for what police alleged were incidents of public intoxication. The charge was later dropped.

School officials also issued two warnings to Goggin after they say he was arrested for drunken driving in 2010 and directed disrespectful words at a parent working at a strip club.

It’s not clear if Goggin will appeal the firing. He declined to comment Friday.
