Man injured escaping condo fire

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– A man was injured while escaping a condo fire in Southington, early Sunday.

Police say they received a call just before 2 AM reporting a fire at 250 Summer St. Unit 28 in the Summer Ridge Condominiums.

The occupant of that unit escaped from the second floor window and was injured when he fell. He was taken to the hospital for falling and burn injuries.

All other occupants escaped without injury and no firefighters were injured.

Out of the 12 units in the building, four are now uninhabitable due to fire and water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
