Bank robber grabs cash out of teller’s hands

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– New Haven police are looking for the man who robbed a TD Bank on Sunday afternoon.

A bank associate at the TD Bank at 466 Foxon Boulevard reported the robbery around 2:20 PM.

The teller told police the robber reached beneath the glass partition and grabbed the cash from her hand while she was counting.

The suspect also indicated that he had a weapon but none were displayed. He made off with only a relatively small amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a tall, white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He was believed to have gotten into a waiting white Nissan Maxima driven by a getaway driver.

A bank customer followed the suspect but eventually lost sight of him.

The incident is under investigation.
