PD: Reported shots fired in Manchester a hoax

Manchester

MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH)–  Manchester police say the report of ten shots fired turned out to be a hoax.

Police received a call from a male who reported hearing ten shots fired and screaming coming from a home on Deer Run Train around 2:11 PM.

A Vernon school was reportedly placed in a brief lockdown due to the call.

Officers responded to the home where a resident was home alone. It was then determined that the phone call was a hoax and possibly related to other recent “swatting calls.”

There were no injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
