Hartford police investigating fourth homicide of year

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hartford Police Department received multiple 911 calls at approximately 11:09 PM Monday, reporting multiple shots fired and a victim on the 600 block of Park Street. A shot spotter system detected 11 shots fired.

Responding officers discovered a male victim lying on the sidewalk in front of 631 Park St suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. EMS personnel were on scene and transported the victim to Hartford hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Major crimes division detectives are investigating. Positive identification is tentative, pending next of kin notification. An autopsy will be performed today, Tuesday at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
