Teens accused of stealing, selling handgun

WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Watertown have arrested three teens for stealing and selling handguns.

Last week, a person in Watertown reported that a handgun had been stolen out of his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway.  After an investigation into the incident two underage suspects were identified.

Police found they had sold the handgun to 18-year-old Avery Freeman.

“Whenever a gun is stolen, our main priority is to ensure public safety and get that gun off the street,” said Deputy Chief Desena. “Our detectives were relentless as they were in past firearm theft cases to prevent the tragic use of a stolen gun.”
