Police said an officer observed an apparent bullet hole in the window and detectives recovered shell casings and a handgun from a yard across the street from where the gunshot victim was found at 472 Connecticut Ave.

The teen was bleeding from the head but was conscious and talking, police said.

Officers were called to the area of Connecticut Avenue and Fifth Street on a report of a street fight. Police are investigating.
