2 arrested for shooting pellet gun at car

LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH)– Two were arrested for shooting off a pellet gun from a moving car at a parked car in Ledyard on Saturday night.

Police say they received a report around 8 PM of a parked car being struck by a pellet gun from a car traveling on Pumpkin Hill Road.

The victim followed the car after calling police.

Once the car stopped, a 17-year-old juvenile fled while the driver was being arrested. The juvenile was found a short distance away by a State Police K9.

The driver, 18-year-old Mathew Moore, was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, breach of peace and reckless endangerment. He was released on $1,000 bound and will appear in court May 23rd.

The juvenile was arrested on the same charges but is scheduled to appear in Waterford Juvenile Court.
