Historian: Connecticut shoreline key in War of 1812

Maritime historian Jerry Roberts, who authored a book on the War of `1812, talks about the battle along the Connecticut shoreline. Roberts’ book details the untold story of this important “British Raid on Essex”, and how it helped shape the war.

The battle took place at the mouth of the Connecticut River, and archaeologists continue to discover more evidence which will further tell the tale.
