Blues legends heading back to Mystic

MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — Some blues legends will be heading back to Mystic next month.

Included in that group will be Matt “Guitar” Murphy, who on Tuesday took some time to listen to Jacob Graham of East Lyme.

Graham will be playing drums with a youth blues group at next month’s second annual Mystic Blues Festival.

In Mystic today on hand to promote the event were: Murphy of Blues Brothers fame; Jaimoe Johanson, a drummer with the Allman Brothers; and Christine Ohlman, a singer with the Saturday Night Live Band.

“Oh he’s good … He’s really good,” Murphy said of Graham.

Said Graham, “Matt ‘Guitar’ Murphy, I’ve see the Blues Brothers, and it’s just amazing to even be in the same event as them.”

The three-day Mystic Blues Festival starts Friday, June 27, at Mystic Shipyard. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
