Charged with running a Ponzi scheme

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An Oxford resident has been arrested, after officials say he stole money from investors in a Ponzi scheme.

50-year-old Robert Lee was arrested. Officials say Lee worked for investment firms until July of 2013, when he was fired from Rockwell Global Capial, LLC.

Officials say between January 2011 and March 2014 Lee took money from people and said he was investing it. They say Lee was actually using the money for himself, and to pay other investors.

Lee was arrested yesterday.
