Students slightly injured on Branford bus

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Several Branford elementary school students suffered minor injuries after their school bus was cut off by another car, Wednesday afternoon.

The Branford Fire Department responded to 869 West Main Street at 1:46 PM to the report of injured students. There they discovered a loaded bus with about 30 elementary students and some were claming minor injuries.

The bus driver told police the bus was cut off by another car so she had to stop abruptly.

Paramedics treated nine children with minor bumps and bruises on scene. No students required transport.

Officials immediately contacted the Branford Board of Education. All parents of the students involved were also notified.

The incident is under investigation.
