MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Middlebury fire chief Paul Perrotti says the FBI swarmed the fire department Thursday after someone made a complaint — but he’s not sure who or why.
“I’m just saying that I’m cooperating fully,” said Perrotti, who’s been chief for 18 years. “I have nothing to hide. I want to offer the people out there that we have full transparency.”
Perrotti said the FBI took financial information and a computer. The FBI’s Dan Curtin would only say the FBI was there “in support of an investigation.”
“We have an audit done of the department’s finances and that’s done every year,” Perrotti said. “So I think what this is … would possibly be like a big giant fishing expedition by somebody.”
