Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Manchester

Manchester, Conn. (WTNH) – A man and a woman have been arrested in Manchester on drug charges, after they were busted during an undercover operation.

Police from Manchester, and the East Central Narcotics Taskforce were staking-out the Manchester Inn on East Center Street, after reports of frequent drug use, and drug sales, involving tenants of the Inn.

At 7 o’clock Wednesday night, police say a car with New York plates came from the Manchester Inn, driving recklessly, and at a high rate of speed.

The car was stopped by police, and officers say they smelled marijuana. Police searched the vehicle, and seized 100 packets of Heroin with a street value of $700.00, along with 1.49 grams of marijuana.

Lambert Walcott Junior, 23, of East Hartford, and Deborah Bennett, also 23, of Hartford, were arrested. Walcott is facing numerous charges, and is held on $250,000 bond. Bennett was given $50,000 bond.
