Lobster trap thief, restaurant burglar, busted

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Milford have had their hands busy making two arrests; one man accused of robbing a restaurant, the other stealing lobster traps.

Police say 41-year-old Jose Octavio Balseiro of 92 Hill Street in Shelton robbed the Indigo Restaurant on Schooner Lane back on April 20th. According to officials, he came into the restaurant with a gun after it had closed. Balseiro is charged with robbery. He was arraigned yesterday and is being held on $200,000 bond.

On May 13th police arrested 21-year-old Elias Jaser of 98 Leete Street in West Haven. According to officials, Jaser stole 16 lobster traps worth a total of $320. The traps were at a property on Eels Hill Road. Jaser is charged with larceny and trespassing. He will be back in court next month.
