Vernon man, 28, killed on I-84 eastbound

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Vernon man was struck and killed by a car on I-84 eastbound early Saturday, state police said.

Veto Bonan, 28, was traveling on the westbound side shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday when “for unknown reasons” police said he crossed the grassy median and all three eastbound lanes and crashed into a bush near the exit 41 on-ramp.

Bonan then exited his car and was struck by oncoming traffic, police said.

Officials closed all eastbound lanes and the left lane on the westbound side for about 4.5 hours as they surveyed the scene. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
