Truck hits riser, causes gas leak in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– CT Natural Gas responded to gas leak after a truck hit a riser in Hartford.

CNG says the truck did not hit a building but hit a riser, which is a gas pipe that sticks out of the ground.

This caused a brief leak on Madison Street between Washington and Broad streets. That leak has since been capped.

CNG fitters on the way to the scene to make repairs.

They say no customers are without service and that no one has been evacuated.
