Police put out alert for violent sex offender

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police say a registered sex offender with violent tendencies who is court-committed to Connecticut Valley Hospital walked away from the Middletown facility Friday night.

Police are urging the public to use caution and not approach 38-year-old David Lane, described as a black male about 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds. Lane was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, and red and white sneakers.

If you see Lane, call your local police department or 911, police said.

Lane was convicted of first-degree sexual assault in 1998 and released seven years later, according to online records. He also goes by the alias Dwayne Wilson, according to those records.
