Crews repair water-main break in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– The water has been shut down on Farmington Avenue and Prospect Street in Hartford after a water-main break.

The intersection of Farmington Avenue and Prospect Street is closed while crews repair the break.

MDC says the shut down will affect a synagogue and five large apartment buildings. Staff is notifying residents and businesses.

The MDC Water Wagon which contains 600 gallons of potable water is on scene and will be staged at the corner of Highland Street and Famrington Avenue during repairs.

Customers should bring their own containers for water.

There is no estimate on repair time.
