Moose spotted near I-84 in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH)– Drivers in the New Britain area are advised to be extra cautious and observant after a moose was spotted near roadways Wednesday.

The moose was spotted near the intersection of Route 72 and I-84 in the afternoon hours.

The DEEP says moose near roadways are particularly dangerous because they are more likely to crash through a car windshield when struck due to their tall stature.

They’re also more difficult to see at night.

All moose or deer collisions should be reported.
