NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The National Weather Service accessed the damage from Tuesday’s storm in New Milford and Southbury.

By examining the way the trees fell and how much damage there was, they were able to determine the damage yesterday was due to straight line wind damage with max winds of 100 mph — basically a very strong downdraft.
