WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — If you know someone who owns a hat with the words “South East Mississippi” stitched on it, you may be able to help police a great deal.

West Haven police say a man wearing the hat entered the Webster Bank at 584 Campbell Avenue Saturday and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. It happened about 11:30 a.m. Police say he told the teller he had a gun.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 40s, medium-build with a mustache, glasses, wearing a blue jacket, faded blue jeans and a hat with the words “South East Mississippi” stitched on it.

He fled north on Campbell Avenue. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call them at 203-937-3932.
