Woman charged with identity theft

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — An East Hartford woman is facing identity theft charges, after police say she opened up a CL&P account in someone else’s name.

South Windsor Police arrested 49-year-old Laura Maffucci of 69 Ellsworth St. She is charged with Identity Theft in the Third Degree.

Maffucci’s charges stem from a 2012 complaint from a South Windsor resident, that Maffucci had opened up an account under her name. The utility company reported their was an unpaid balance of $400.00 in the victim’s name.

Maffucci is being held on $2,500.00 bond.
