Branford, CONN (WTNH) — According to the New Haven Register a woman attacked by a pit bull back in April has died.
The 93-year-old woman, Rita Pepe, from Branford was attacked and bitten by the runaway dog in her neighborhood.
Charlie Pepe, Rita’s son was beyond surprised when he learned what had happened to his mother.
“You sit there and make a list of why a 93-year-old woman is on her way to the hospital,” he said. “I figured she fell or had a stroke. Never figured it was because of being bitten by a pit bull.”
Her son says his mother probably died of kidney failure which stemmed from the trauma the attack caused.
Right now it’s unclear if that pit bull has been euthanized.
