NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Despite the rain Thursday morning, some kids in New Haven got to hit the trail on some mountain bikes and stay dry.
At Hill House High School in New Haven, the city Parks and Rec Department let students race each other on a virtual mountain bike course.
The idea is to promote a new mountain biking summer course the city is offering this summer, along with a mountain biking team.
“In New Haven, we see more and more utilizing cycling not only as a way to exercise but to become the main form of transportation,” said Martin Torresquintero, New Haven Parks Department.
The New Haven summer mountain biking team is a six week program that runs this summer. The cost is $30 for New Haven kids between 13 and 18.
