Special election in Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Voters in three towns will go to the polls next month to select a new state representative, Gov. Dannel Malloy announced Friday.

122nd Dist Rep. Larry Miller passed away on June 1. That district covers parts of Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull.

The governor said the special election will take place on July 22.

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill said the major political parties have until June 16 to nominate a candidate for the special election.
