Driver Dies in Car Accident in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — South Windsor Police and Fire Crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on Oakland Road in the area of the 300 block on Sunday.

Police say the accident was reported at 2AM. Emergency crews found a late model Camaro convertible had left the roadway, struck an unoccupied parked car and broke a telephone pole.

The single occupant of the car was seriously injured and later died at Manchester Hospital. The man was identified as 55-year-old resident Patrick Brannon, of South Windsor.

The accident is being investigated by members of the South Windsor Police Traffic Unit, with assistance from officers in Metro Traffic Services.

The road reopened at about 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning once utility crews have replaced the pole and moved the utilities onto it.
