Willimantic homes evacuated due to gas leak

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH)– Homes were evacuated in Willimantic this morning due to a gas leak.

The Willimantic Fire Department says there were seven houses evacuated. They were later allowed back in their homes after the gas company and water company went to work on the leak.

The Fire Department tweeted earlier that they responded to the gas leak on Keating Street.

Immediate home on the street were evacuated.

The cause of the gas leak is unknown at this time.
