ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – One person was taken to the hospital for burn injuries following a fire at a home in Enfield late Wednesday night.

North Thompsonville Deputy Fire Chief David Lapponese told 22News that there were flames coming from the house at 23 Campania Road when firefighters got there shortly before midnight.

Lapponese said that three people were home at the time of the fire. One of those residents, a man, was taken to Baystate Medical Center after suffering burns. The deputy chief said that they do not know the extent of that man’s injuries at this time.

Firefighters from North Thompsonville, Thompsonville, Enfield, Hazardville, and Shaker Pines all worked to put out the fire.

Lapponese said that they are still looking into the cause of the fire. Fire crews and police officers were still at the site of the fire early Thursday morning, sifting through debris.

Campania Road is a quiet street of residential homes that runs parallel to Route 5, not far from the Massachusetts state line.
