MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Concern over a carbon dioxide tank led to an emergency response at the northbound rest area along I-95 in Milford Thursday.

First responders were called out to the Subway restaurant around 11:30 a.m.

A spokesman for the Connecticut Department of Transportation told News 8 a CO2 tank that provides carbonation to a soda machine was icing over. Workers called the manufacturer, who advised them to clear the area until it could be checked out.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene. The problem was taken care of and emergency crews left shortly before noon.

No injuries are reported, the DOT said.
