Adjusting to Divorce

WTNH– Psychotherapist/family counselor Dr. Julie Gowthorpe talks about how when divorce happens, the change can be difficult for both parents and children, especially when celebrating a holiday like “Father’s Day. However, there are clear and purposeful strategies to guide you through this time.

Some of Gowthorpe’s points are:

–  Parenting is Forever
–  Encourage Ample Father-Child time
–  Children Worry Even if They Don’t Tell You
–  Make Father’s Day and Mother’s Day holidays that do not require problem solving
