TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– Torrington police are investigating an assault after a man was arrested for striking a homeless man with a bottle in a McDonald’s parking lot Friday.

Police say they responded to the McDonald’s restaurant at 693 Main Street around 11:30 PM to investigate a fight. On a nearby roadway they found the victim, 47-year-old Alan Plocke, who reported being homeless, bleeding from a head injury.

Officers then found the suspect, 49-year-old Reinaldo Baez of Waterbury, wearing a skirt and a white wig.

It was later revealed that Plocke and Baez had gotten into an argument in the parking lot when Baez assaulted Plocke and struck him over the head with a bottle.

Plocke was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment.

Police did not find any weapons at the scene.

Baez was charged with assault and breach of peace. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
