Man arrested for spraying fire officials with hose

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) –A bizarre turn of events when a fire breaks out in Shelton.

Fire officials responded to an open fire burning on Beardsley Road, but when they go there the homeowner became verbally abusive.

77-year-old Mark Lilly then got out a garden hose but instead of helping to put out the flames, sprayed the fire officials instead.

He was issued a summons for breach of peace and open burning.
